I want to personally thank Celebration Lutheran Church for the opportunity to go to India. India was a great trip not only for me and our team, but also for the people in India. God granted us the opportunity to impact many people there, and to bless them in so many different ways. The great thing about mission trips is that while impacting others, God is usually doing a work in us. It always seems like we receive so much more in terms of being blessed spiritually on these trips then the people that we originally wanted to impact. As I was praying to the Lord asking him what he wants me to write about, I clearly heard him say “The Village”. I believe God wants Celebration to know a story about what happened in the village . So here we go…
The Lord opened a door for us to spend a couple of evenings in a village outside Vijayawada. The first night that we showed up kids from every direction started running to our vehicles, and as soon as we got out of them they started to goof around with us. It was amazing to see how friendly they were. It was as if they had never seen people from the west before, and for a lot of them that is probably true. As the night went on we could sense in the spirit realm that we were not welcome there. Cory being the great leader that he is recognized that there were demons everywhere in this village. And as he noticed this he sent a note to the whole team to pray against the evil in this village. The night consisted of praise and worship followed by a quick message from Cory. During the worship you could feel the evil was starting to back off, and that Jesus love was over powering the enemy. The rest of the night went well; people came up for prayer and blessings. I believe they were being rocked by Gods presence.
On the second night we went to the village, Jesse and I arrived late because we rode in a rickshaw. Which is basically a 3 wheel vehicle but with no windows and it runs on propane. As we pulled into the village right away I started to feel a dark presence. As we pulled up to where the tent meeting was held they were already in worship. So Jesse and I snuck up on left side near a cement wall. And as we walked up I got really sick like dizzy and nauseated. I knew right away that it was demonic. They were trying to scare me away from the truth that I and any other Christian has power and dominion over them because of Jesus Christ. They knew who we were and why we were there. So I took authority over them and said “ In the name of Jesus Christ I rebuke you and command you to leave this village”. At first they didn’t listen, and I remained with this sick feeling. A couple of minutes went by and I remember saying to myself a number of times “Jesus is Bigger”. And as I repeated those words Nick and the worship team started worshipping and as they sang praises to our King the sick feeling left me and I believe the demons had left the tent meeting all together. As I sat there during Cory’s message, I was watching some of the children’s faces and I felt the Lord speak to me. And he said “ That is what demons do, they deceive my children. They don’t stop day or night. This is your calling, to go after the deceived and the lost. These children are my children. And they are what you are fighting for”. Then I felt him say “ You have power over the enemy because you are one of mine, and my son is in you, and he is more powerful than them”. Celebration I believe the Lord is talking to us all in this story, I believe it is time for us to start really believing what our true identities are in Jesus. He won power over the enemy for us on the cross. We will never have this opportunity again once we leave this earth, to tell someone about Jesus.
I just want to take this time to thank Jesus Christ for all that he has done in my life and what he is going to do in the future. Blessings, from your brother in Christ Matt Kuntz.
