What can you expect at a service?
The purpose of our Worship Arts Ministry is to "create moments where people experience God". We know that people learn best when their hearts experience truth, so we use music, drama, dance and the fine arts to touch people’s hearts with the truth of God’s love. We want everyone who attends Celebration to worship God in a way that involves them physically, engages them intellectually, moves them emotionally, and empowers them volitionally.
Expect to find:
- Casual Dress code
- Multimedia & Drama
- Contemporary music led by a band
- Services Time:
Sunday morning – 9:00 am and 10:30 am
How will I meet people?
You will see a lot of new faces when you attend a service. The best way to come to know people is to get involved in one of the many groups we have at Celebration. Speaking to the persons at the Information desk on a Sunday morning can do this. Or you can simply go to the ministry or volunteer pages on the website and try one of the ministries or volunteer positions. The group will connect with you to involve you in their team and projects. Another way of meeting people is by connecting to our house based groups. That can be done via the small groups page on our website or by singing up at the information center.

ABOUT US
Short History
The rich history of Celebration began in the fall of 1960 when members from Grace Lutheran Church started a Mission plant in the Glen Elm Trailer Court. The first service was held on November 6, 1960 at the community recreation hall with 42 adults and 35 children. Glen Elm Lutheran was officially underway and eventually a church was constructed on the corner of Rupert and 11the Ave. In the late 1970’s the church took some new directions with the calling of Pastor Dan Sattelmeier. He brought a new emphasis on outreach to unbelievers, work of the Holy Spirit. He also introduced contemporary worship music and took bold new steps in increasing the budget and adding alternative services. In 1995 another huge step was undertaken with the building of a new church on the corner of Renfrew Cres. and Prince of Whales Drive. The new building attracted many new visitors, and a population explosion happened almost overnight – making Celebration one of the largest Lutheran Churches in Canada.
Over the years, many godly men and women have worked on staff leading and guiding the ministries of Celebration. Even more volunteers have shared their gifts and resources and passions with one another and with the people of Regina. Mission teams have reached to North Saskatchewan, Mexico, India, Guatemala, Russia, South Africa and many other locations in the world. Celebration has touched every segment of our population with God’s love – from the richest to the poorest, from the youngest to the oldest.
