I spent the last couple of days at the Paraa Safari Lodge with my family. What an amazing experience! The resort is located in the Murchison Falls wildlife reserve, so from our supper table, we would hear hippos snorting or elephants trumpeting- it was incredible. After being on the game preserve about 10 minutes, we turned around to see 2 elephants sauntering across the road behind us. Elephants are sneaky- I couldn’t believe it when they would just pop out of the bushes without warning! We got to do an early morning and evening game drive, as well as a Nile River boat tour. We saw lions, elephants, TONS of giraffes, water buffalo, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles- and so much more. Each of our game drives were 3 hours long, and was so amazing. We saw 7 lions- 3 on the evening drive, and then another four the next morning. The four we saw were a lioness and her cubs that were about 6 months old. They were SO cute, and just sat in the middle of the road in front of our truck and stared at us- probably thinking that it’d be so much easier to eat the tourists in the truck than take down one of those quickly running game animals. We also got to visit with a little group of warthogs that came up to have a drink from the pool- while we were in it. It was kind of awesome. If you have the chance to go on safari, TOTALLY go!
