This past Sunday I was sharing from 1 Timothy 6:11-21 about Men of God.
Timothy is called by Paul, a “man of God”. He then goes into what being a “man of God” is and who that is.
I believe our view of a “man” in society today is very different that who God has called us to be as “men”.
The were a few jot notes that I suggested from the passage of what it means to be a “manly, man of God”:
1) Run! Run from evil
2) Pursue the righteous
3) Be filled with love and gentleness. Live a life filled with light, love and the Holy Spirit!
4) Stand firm and fight for what you believe in – but even in your fighting, do it in love.
5) Possessions/Money are not the end all, but realize they are a blessing and are meant to be shared. Share with those in need – not only with materials, but with yourself and who Christ is and who He has made you to be.
6) Guard what God has given you! Be good stewards of your blessings and protect those he has entrusted you with
Here are some additional passages that I referred to on Sunday. I encourage you to read them and to seek to be truly manly men of God.
Women, you have a HUGE responsibility to love and care and PRAY for the men in your life that they may be truly manly men of God.
