This Sunday we wrapped up our Advent series with LOVE.
Such a simple word, but one with such gravity and importance to our Christianity.
God loved us first – let that hit home. Before we could do anything to earn it, before we were even born – God loved us.
He loved us so much with his unfailing, never ending, never changing, everlasting love. So much that He sent His Son at Christmas to be born, to live, to die and to be resurrected – to be the salvation for the world.
This is the source of love because GOD IS LOVE.
With God being the source, that then stems into our call to love – to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbour as yourself. This is how we can share the gospel, how we can prove to the world that we are His disciples.
As we embrace this concept of love it produces compassion. And as that happens, love moves to action.
Romans 13:8 – Owe nothing to anyone – except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.
This is our one duty – love.
The action step I gave on Sunday:
Intentionally show the love of Jesus. Make steps on how you will demonstrate Christ’s love to those around you (friends, family, strangers, co-workers, neighbours, immigrants, etc, etc etc)
1 Corinthians 16:14
Do everything in love
These are gifts from God – Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. Receive these gifts, embrace these gifts, be thankful for these gifts and use these gifts – all for the glory and honour of God.
We are having our annual Christmas Eve service this Thursday (December 24th) at 6:30pm. You are welcome to join in the celebration and to bring your family and friends and we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
