Foundations of Christian Character – Honesty & Integrity
That was the sermon topic for this past Sunday. If you were unable to be with us at Celebration on Sunday I would encourage you to listen to the sermon on our website. The story of Daniel is so fascinating and true. Find your bible and read Daniel 6 today.
As you are reading it, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into what the scripture passage is saying. The main thrust of Daniel 6 for Sunday’s story is how much Daniel’s integrity spoke to King Darius. The King of one of the largest empires to ever exist on earth is completely drawn into the life of one of his captives. Read each verse that speaks about Daniel’s interaction with King Darius a few times. Daniel was a child of God that lived out his life before a king, but always lived his live fully for the King of Kings.
Honesty is stating something we truly believe.
Integrity is living what we truly believe.
‘Integrity is the glue that holds our way of life together. We must constantly strive to keep our integrity intact. When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost.’
‘Image is what people think we are: integrity is what we really are.’
‘Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.’
How will we live our lives today when we know that God is the only one watching?
In the words of Red Green – ‘Remember we are all in this together.’
