Martin Luther wrote the hymn, ‘A Mighty Fortress is God’ based on Psalm 46.
A member of our congregation sent Psalm 46 in as their favourite Psalm for our Summer Psalm series.
In preparation for the sermon this past Sunday I searched via Google the sons of Korah. I was led to the book of Numbers and a fascinating story of Korah, Moses and how God is in control.
The Bible continues to fascinate me in regards to its continuity, consistency and ability to be truthful. I am so glad God gave us the Scriptures.
The verse that I highlighted the most this past Sunday and I am attempting to live by this week is Psalm 46: 10a, ‘Be still and know that I am God!’
I am going to take time this week to be still before God and know Him. To remain before Him in a quiet, still and humble manner. To genuinely know Him. I would invite you to ask God if you need to do that this week.
In John 16:33 Jesus says, ‘I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world.’ NCV
Thanks Jesus for giving me peace. Thanks God that I can be still and know that peace.
